About Scubaland

Scubaland Adventures offers a full range of scuba diving classes. We offer scheduled class times as well as private lessons or private groups lessons. If you are new to scuba, check out our start here page. Scubaland has been training divers in Austin for 20 years. The Professional Association of Dive Instructors (PADI) has recognized Scubaland's investment in quality education by granting Scubaland 5-Star IDC status. Scubaland is one of the few dive centers in the nation that offers training from entry level Open Water certifications to professional level Open Water SCUBA Instructor ratings.

Scubaland has a professional staff that includes over 15 Open Water SCUBA Instructors and a PADI Course Director. All of the educational staff have been active in the dive industry for many years. Many of our staff members have worked and instructed in some of of the top diving destinations in the world. All of our educators have traveled extensively and bring a wealth of knowledge regarding diving destinations, diving conditions, underwater photography and marine life.

Scubaland's educational facilities are some of the best in Austin. Scubaland offers two large classrooms in conveniently located in central and south Austin. Both classrooms are A/V equipped and offer a comfortable learning environment. Confined water, or pool, sessions are held in an on-site, indoor, heated pool for comfort and convenience. The pool also offers a heated changing room so that students can change out of wet gear once the session is finished.

SCUBA diving can be a "gear intensive" sport. Ten years ago you could get your dive equipment in any color you wanted as long as it was black and you wanted the one make and model the local dive center had available. Scubaland has always been committed to offering that largest selection of dive gear in Austin. We work with over 100 manufacturers of top quality dive equipment and stock a variety of makes, models, sizes, and colors. Scubaland has the largest inventory of any dive retailer in Austin. In the event that we don't have exactly what you are looking for, we can special order your item to insure that you are purchasing what you want, not just what's in stock.

Scubaland's commitment to top quality dive gear extends to our rental gear. Our rental inventory contains top of the line Scubapro BCDs - complete with weight integration systems and octo-inflators - high performance Scubapro regulators, and Henderson Thermoprene wetsuits. This is not older model low end gear. This is the same gear you will find on the showroom floors.
