What's the difference?

Choosing a dive center for your Open Water certification can be very confusing.  Don't all dive centers offer the same thing?  While the end result may be the same, there can be big differences between how dive store on how you get there.  Here are just a few of the things that are part of the Scubaland difference.

Price

Scubaland offers an all inclusive lifetime Open Water certification for $200 per person with equipment rebate.

That includes:

• All SCUBA equipment and video rental is included with course fee
• 5mm rental suits are included with course fee
• Open Water Manual, eRDPML, log book pages, student record file, and video rental are included in the course fee
• Student receive a $50 rebate towards the purchase of snorkeling gear (mask, snorkel, fins, boots).
• Students receive a 10% discount on all equipment purchases
• Certification card
• Any student who answers "Yes" to any question on the medical form will need to get a physician's approval before starting class (see page 2 of medical form)
• Park entry fees are paid by the students directly to the dive park on the day of their open water dives ($60 for Aquarena, $30 for Windy Point)
• Sign up for the Advanced class by the end of your Open Water class and receive free gear rental for the Advanced class plus a 20% discount on the course fee.

  Course Materials

  Scubaland provides you with a complete set of materials for your course including an open water manual, an electronic dive planner, a real log book, a student record file, and a free video rental.

  !Other dive stores only give you a manual and photo copy of a log book page or charge you extra for these items.

  Instructional Staff

  Scubaland fields the largest and most diverse training team of any dive center in central Texas.  We have over 30 PADI dive professionals on staff.  Many of them are full time Instructors or Master Instructors.  A large percentage of those professionals became divers at Scubaland Adventures and went on to become instructors with Scubaland Adventures.  Scubaland offers the largest and most qualified training staff in central Texas.

  Facilities

  Scubaland has invested over half a million dollars in an aquatics training facility at our Anderson Lane location.  Our pool is the largest and deepest training pool designed for SCUBA training in central Texas.  It's also kept at a balmy 88 degrees for your comfort!
  
  Our pool is professionally maintained by Hines Pool and Spa to insure your comfort and safety.

  Scubaland has an active dive club that focuses on local diving throughout Texas as well as non-diving fun social events year round.  If you want to dive and are looking for a dive buddy, look no further!  Our dive club has got you covered!

  Travel Opportunities

  Scubaland has a robust dive travel program that includes Caribbean, and Asia Pacific destinations in addition to unique destinations like Galapagos, and Great White Shark dive trips.
  
  All of our trips have a group leader and are designed so all you have to do is show up and dive!  Our in-house, full service travel agency, Travelmasters, has specialized in dive and adventure travel for over 15 years.
  What's the Next Step?
  Once you have chosen the class format that best fits your needs, either sign up online or come by one of our Austin Texas stores and we'll get you registered for a class. You will also be able to pick up your course materials and free video rental as well as any required equipment. Remember to ask for the student discount for your equipment!
