Instructor Development Course
Course cost $1250, not incl. materials
Course Length: 8 days across four weekends.
Prerequisites to entry: PADI Divemaster or above (or qualifying
equivalent)
Suggested & Required Preparations: See the
Asst Instructor
section. Note that
the Medical Release needs to be less than 1-year old at the completion of the
PADI Instructor Evaluation.
Description: This course consists of the AI and
OWSI components, and is the integrated instruction to thoroughly prepare you to take the PADI Instructor
Evaluation and be a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.
Instructor Examination Prep Course
Course cost $75 per section
Course Length: varies, up to 2 days per section
Prerequisites to entry: PADI IDC Completed within the past year.
Suggested & Required Preparations: Varies per student's
requirements.
Description: PADI standards allow for two retries after the
initial I.E. within one year from the completion of the IDC. This prep course is designed to assist the
candidate who either has had difficulties in passing section(s) of the PADI
Instructor Examination or who desires a refresher prior to taking the
examination. This training is divided into sections for:
- Prescriptive Teaching
- Confined Water (Skills Demonstration & Teaching Presentation)

Open Water (Rescue Diver Skill & Teaching Presentation)
- Dive Theory (any or all modules)
- General Standards & Procedures
IDC Staff Instructor Course
Course cost $750, not incl. materials
Course Length: 10 Days (across 5 weekends-Option 1) or 3
Consecutive Days (Option 2)
Prerequisites to entry: PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.
Suggested & Required Preparations
Description: The Staff Instructor Course prepares you to teach PADI
Assistant Instructors, and to act as a certified assistant in teaching
Instructor Development Courses. We offer this course in one of two formats
- Option 1 involves two days of specific course work followed by auditing a
complete IDC. Option 2 allows those who are time constrained to perform
practical exercises in place of auditing an IDC.
