PADI Divemaster
George has spent years breathing underwater, both in a submarine then as a SCUBA diver. He first got PADI Open Water certified in 1992 when a coworker on his sub trained a group of fellow sailors before heading to Guam. Their final open water dive was off a sandy beach at Hickam Air Force Base (now Hickam Field) with zero visibility and next door to the Honolulu Airport runways which are notoriously surrounded by hammerhead sharks. Guam was much more pleasant.
George and his Divemaster (DM) wife Lynn moved to Austin in 1995 and were later trained by Master Instructor Michael Lutz with six specialties (Enriched Air, Search and Recovery, Night, Wreck, Deep, and Dry Suit) through PADI Master Scuba Diver in 2011 and PADI Divemaster in 2014. George is very familiar with diving in Central Texas and all around Oahu and is always happy to answer questions and offer suggestions. He is also familiar with green-water diving around Texas; blue-water diving oil rigs off the Texas coast, the Big Island of Hawaii, and Okinawa; and has been trained for black-water diving to assist the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Game Wardens.
