Kelly Gatewood
PADI Master SCUBA Diver Trainer
Instructor since
Kelly took her PADI open water class after winning a silent charity auction while attending UT in 1993. She quickly took more classes and became a PADI rescue diver in 1994. Loving sharks since doing a report on great whites in the second grade, she's travelled around the world to dive with whale sharks, great whites, reef sharks, nurse sharks, and many other species. Favorite trips include diving with great whites in both South Australia and Guadalupe Island, Mexico as well as Bonaire and Galapagos.
She finally obtained her PADI dive master certification in 2011 and her Master Scuba Diver Trainer certification in 2015. Kelly loves to teach both open water and advanced courses, introducing her students to the underwater world and improving their skills with specific training dives like navigation and night. She also hosts weekly dives most every Wednesday night in Lake Travis during the summer where everyone is welcome.
